Penmaenmawr Museum is an independent museum, run by volunteers. As well as managing the museum and coffee shop, we look after an archive collection of objects, documents and photographs, organise an annual lecture series, hold community events and lead heritage walks.
About Penmaenmawr Historical Society and Museum
Our story began in 1973, when local historians Ivor E. Davies and Dennis Roberts encouraged a group of people who were interested in local history to support them in forming the Penmaenmawr Historical Society. The society held talks and published booklets about the history of the town and landscape.

Penmaenmawr Museum holds special events and exhibition previews for all ages. We also organise a programme of six history-themed talks every year.
During the summer months, the museum organises a programme of guided heritage walks around Penmaenmawr.
Cynefin Gift Shop
The Museum shop, Cynefin, offers a large range of gifts from socks and soaps to jewellery and artwork. We sell Welsh and English books for adults and children, covering Welsh history and the local area. Most products are created in Wales, many from artisans in our local area. All proceeds from the shop support the Museum’s work.
